Only 150 metres walking distance from the Eastern Beach, the cottage is ideally located for walks through the Botanic Gardens and along the picturesque Moyne River.

The garden at Tara Cottage has been developed and lovingly tended over many years. There is an outdoor area behind the cottage which has complete privacy. The rich colours in the garden and surroundings create a lovely tranquil atmosphere.

Port Fairy is a 19th century sea port located on the Moyne River in Victoria's Western District. Originally a fishing village, Port Fairy retains its original streetscape of wide streets and small whalers' cottages. The old buildings give the visitor a chance to step back into history into a calmer and quieter existence. A series of ocean-formed coves can be explored along the many interesting and scenic walks.
