Christmas Eve heralds the opening of the 60th Moyneyana Festival in Port Fairy.

Season's revellers are reminded of the various events of this, the 60th Celebration of the Moyneyana Festival. Do not miss the visit from Santa and Mrs Claus when we kick off this year's festival. Look out for your events update each week and celebrate the spirit of Moyneyana.

Chairman Reg Harry said “The committee eagerly awaits the commencement of the festival after much behind the scenes time and effort has been given by volunteer members in preparing this special anniversary programme of activities and entertainment.”

Mr Harry encouraged the public to take time either before Christmas Eve or maybe after to view the homes where the residents have participated in the Rotary Club's Christmas Lights competition.

Christmas Eve provides a wealth of fun with FREE entertainment from 4.30pm .

Christmas Eve

5.30pm : Enjoy the Traders BBQ prepared by the Sea Scouts whilst being entertained by the Citizen's Band.

7.00pm : Presentations: Winners of Rotary Christmas Lights, Trader's Window competition, Best Dressed Christmas Family, and the Cricket Club Christmas Stocking raffle draw.

7.30pm : SANTA and his lovely wife MRS CLAUS arrive on The Village Green. This year Santa will present show bags for children sponsored by the National Bank, Port Fairy.

27- 31 st Dec: 1-3pm each day. Golf: Lions Nearest the Pin competition. Geoff Dodds Reserve

28th Dec: The Port Fairy Belfast Lions Club Annual Art Show
Venue: Port Fairy Senior Citizens Club rooms, Barclay Street Port Fairy
Dates:  From Friday 28th December – Saturday 5th January
Times: Open each day from 10am – 5.30pm Cost:   $4 adults, children free

There will be an official opening of the Art Show on Friday 28th December at 8pm

28th Dec: FREE: 2 pm-9pm The Moyneyana Musicfest opens with a concert on the Village Green hosted by Arthur Hoey and Streamline. Some of the south-west's best folk and country rock performers including Shane Howard and Andy Alberts will be on stage. The 3YB Moyneyana Musicfest will provide seven hours of almost non-stop music.

Retro Race and the New Years Eve Procession : We look forward to seeing what our regular participants can produce this year and would like those who haven't participated previously to make a special effort for the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the Moyneyana Festival.
