A.A. MILNE
A.A. Milne became a writer because even though he was studying Maths he was always interested in writing. He was best known in England as a successful play writer in the 1920s.
A.A. Milne first started taking classes at Henley House, his father's school. Amongst his teachers was H.G. Wells, who was a dear friend of A.A. Milne, who would one day go on to a famous author. He first started writting at Cambridge University in a magazine. He also worked for a magazine named Punch that is still around today.
Over the years A.A. Milne wrote articles, essays, novels, plays, poetry and children's books. Most of it is humorous. His biggest hit was Winnie The Pooh in 1926, and 2 years later he published the House at Pooh Corner, which was just as popular. It was so populor that they didn't have enough paper to publish it on.
Over the years A.A. Milne wrote things for all ages, from one to a hundred and one.
A.A. Milne got some of his ideas from his neice Marjorie, his brother Ken's daughter. He was very close to his brother Ken until Ken died in 1929. A.A. Milne wrote with Ken for a while. He got other ideas from Christopher Robin, his son. How A.A.Milne called Christopher Robin Billy Moon was before Christopher Robin was born A.A.Milne was going to name him Billy and Christopher Robin pronounced Milne as Moon. Christopher Robin died only 3 years ago.
A.A. Milne was influenced by the writer of Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie. He also was influenced by Christopher Robin from watching him play and pray at night. He wrote a poem about that named Vespers and gave it to his wife to sell. She got $50 American for it and that was alot in those days.

A.A. MILNE'S FAMILY - A.A. Milne was the youngest boy of three whose parents were Sarah Marie and John Vine Milne. His two older brothers were David Barry Milne (Barry) and Kenneth John Milne (Ken). His brother Ken was alot closer to him than his brother Barry. A.A. Milne (Allan) was born January 18, 1882. A.A. Milne died on January 31, 1956. Before he died, Allan said

"Let Shepard decorate my tomb if there is room.
